I though I would take the liberty to enlighten the general public on airsoft guns. I know that many think of airsoft as those little clear plastic guns at Wal-Mart or Fred Meyers that shoot 20ft or so and don't seem like a ton of fun. Here at Kenai Airsoft and the Aurora Demons team we use "real" AEG's (automatic electric guns). These AEG's are usually metal or ABS plastic replicas of real firearms that propel BB's 300+ feet per second (fps) and can shoot distances of 120+ feet. These airsoft guns can be a bit pricey at around $150-300 This is not to discourage new airsofters as both AkWolf and I started with $20 clear plastic spring pistols and AA battery powered airsoft guns. It took us a long time to come across the airsoft guns we currently play with. We do not discourage anyone with an interest in airsoft to come with $20 guns to our games, it's still a ton of fun and nobody will look down or make fun of you for what gun you have. If you don't believe that airsoft is as fun as we say I strongly encourage you to come to a Aurora Demons game and just check out the guns. Remember that their is a lot more to airsoft than what Fred Meyer and Wal-Mart have to offer.
Note: I think this should be stickied maybe

I agree but with some people they have a really tight budget so they would be lucky at all to even get airsoft

I understand the tight budget, I just don't like the reputation airsoft has because of idiots with the guns they buy at Fred Meyer.

well spoken nat77, thats exactly right. I wish paintballers and unfortnate airsofters would read this. While walmart airsoft guns have their place, they should not be confused with the sport as a whole.
+1 karma
