I am looking at gettting a gun. I have pretty much decided on an MP5 w/ silencer and retractable stock.
Pros??? Cons???
What is a good brand for MP5s??? I am hoping to upgrade the spring and piston to be as powerful and silent as possible. That is my initial idea. Also, a good battery.
Any comments???

Pros
Light Easy to handle Easy to get parts for Lots of accesories
Cons
Short barrel=short range Retractable stock=small battery Small battery=shorter battery life and rate of fire will not be at its peak
MP5's are cool, but I strongly recomend a full stock, they are so much easier to use and you can fit much larger batteries. Also in addition full stocks seem to have less wiring issues as the wiring is rarley exposed. Also you'll find thatMP5's have trouble with mid-long range firfights. Other than that they are sweet, I recomend a ICS MP5. The ICS has a split gearbox (durable and much easier to take apart) and their guns are realistic and well built.
As far as upgrades go it all depends what you want. It sounds like you want quiet and reliable. I would get a M110 spring which would put you at around 350-60fps, get a poly piston head and metal spring guide. You probably don't need a new piston the factory one is sufficient. If you want to spen $100 then you could get a silenced piston and piston head, however I think a silencer will get you the sound your looking for. Make sure the silencer you get is foam filled and not just replica one. Last if you want to increase your range get 363mm (M4 size) tightbore barrel which is longer than the MP5'd which is 275mm or something. The longer barrel will exted past your muzzle, however a silencer will cover that. Just my advice

I think Nate gots this one handled lol. But I think you should go with an M100 spring. It will put you at around 330fps, but since its a short-mid range gun, you want the ROF. But for everything else Nate said, i second it.

Thanks for the info so far. What is ICS as far as manufacturer? I guess I will have to decide on the spring for sure. I guess I am aiming for kinda a sleeper type look(barring the silencer of course). Built to hell and back internally, while not looking too wild on the outside.

if is actually a really good brand. And ics is good too. I wouldn't rule them out. Tm is good, but for a metal mp5 ics is the best.

TM? please explain....... Oh, and if I get a longer barrel, will the foam silencer still be effective or would I have to upgrade to a silenced piston to get that awesome sound...(kinda ricer w/ the sound but, I love it).
